Idaho Transgender College Students Fail to Stop Restroom Law (1)

Two transgender college students in Idaho aren’t entitled to a preliminary injunction blocking a state law that requires them to use restrooms on campus that correspond to their gender at birth, a federal court said.

Atlas Jones and Sophie Smith didn’t show that they’re likely to win on the merits of their claims that the law violates the equal protection clause or their rights under Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments or Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Chief Judge David C. Nye said Aug. 23 for the US District Court for the District of Idaho.
