IBM Accused of Patent Infringement Over Location-Based Data Tech

Several International Business Machines Corp. products infringe patents that use GPS information to deliver content to mobile devices, a complaint filed in federal court says.

A quartet of IBM products, including cybersecurity tools and a weather application, infringe three patents held by H2 Intellect LLC, a Houston-based tech firm owned by a pair of upstart entrepreneurs. Its complaint was filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
