Hunter Biden Voluntarily Drops IRS Tax Return Disclosure Suit

Hunter Biden voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit arguing the IRS was liable for damages after agency employees unlawfully disclosed confidential information from his tax returns.

Former President Joe Biden’s son agreed with the IRS on Wednesday to dismiss his claims, which accused agency personnel of illegally leaking his tax information and violating the Privacy Act by intentionally failing to secure that information in its records system.

The US District Court for the District of Columbia ruled against Biden’s Privacy Act claim in September, but said the IRS would still be liable for damages if its employees made unauthorized disclosures.
