Human Trafficking Suit Against International Health Group Moved

The human trafficking lawsuit filed in a federal district court in Florida against the Pan American Health Organization by Cuban doctors seeking compensation for time they worked in Brazil has to be moved to a federal district court in Washington.

Venue is proper in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, the opinion by Judge Darrin P Gayles said.

Headquartered in Washington, PAHO promotes efforts in the Western Hemisphere to combat disease and promote good health. It receives funds from member countries and the United Nations.
