House Republicans proposed increasing funding for judicial security next fiscal year by more than 18%, as threats against federal judges have ratcheted up in recent months.
The House Appropriations Committee’s financial services panel would give the federal judiciary just over $892 million for court security for fiscal 2026, matching the judiciary’s request earlier this year for more security resources.
