A New York hospital is suing Health and Human Services Dept. leadership for allegedly shorting it more than $50 million on Covid-19 relief funds for treatment at the height of the pandemic.
HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration improperly and without explanation categorized health providers in a way that was “arbitrary, and failed to account for the unique characteristics—and revenue losses—of single specialty hospitals” when dolling out reimbursements appropriated under the CARES Act, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday by New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery.
