Homeless Chicago Sex Offenders Lose Suit to Register

The homeless in Chicago don’t have a right to register as sex offenders that is protected by the due process clause, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Aug. 24.

Registering as a sex offender under the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act isn’t a protected cognizable liberty interest, the opinion by Judge Amy C. Barrett said.
