Homeland Security Agent Escapes Suit for Unlawful Seizure

A U.S. Department of Homeland Security agent is unable to be sued for allegedly unlawfully seizing and threatening to shoot a man involved in a dispute with his son, the Fifth Circuit said.

Kevin Byrd learned that his ex-girlfriend had been in a car accident along with her then-boyfriend Eric Lamb soon after the two of them were kicked out of a bar. Byrd went to the bar to learn more about the incident. He was allegedly prevented from leaving the parking lot by Eric’s father, DHS agent Ray Lamb.
