Hispanic Woman Who’d Make Fifth Circuit History Advances (1)

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced Irma Carrillo Ramirez’ nomination to be the first Hispanic woman to serve on the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Ramirez, a US magistrate judge in the Northern District of Texas, on Thursday became only the second Biden appellate nominee to advance out of committee by voice vote, after Roopali Desai for the Ninth Circuit.
