High Court Rules It Can Hear Court-Martial Cases (1)

The U.S. Supreme Court has jurisdiction to review cases from the court-martial system, it ruled June 22.

This was the first time the high court has reflected on its role in relation to the court-martial system and could signal that the justices are interested in hearing additional cases from it, Stephen I. Vladeck told Bloomberg Law.

Vladeck, who argued for service members challenging their convictions by a court-martial, is a professor of federal jurisdiction and national security law at the University of Texas at Austin Law School.
