The New York offices of Sidley Austin and Willkie Farr & Gallagher were among the businesses jolted on Monday when a helicopter crash-landed on the roof of a Midtown skyscraper, killing the pilot.
Both firms said they activated emergency procedures and personnel were evacuated from the AXA Equitable tower at 787 Seventh Avenue.
Willkie partner Randall Jackson was at his desk on the 34th floor when the copter hit the roof of the 51-story building in the early afternoon.
“I was just sitting doing work and we felt the entire building just jolt” Jackson told Bloomberg in a phone interview. ...
