Heirs to Nazi Stolen Art Fail to Revive Suit Against Hungary

The Republic of Hungary and several of its national museums escaped a long-running lawsuit brought by a Jewish family seeking to reclaim a massive art collection that was stolen during the Holocaust.

The Herzog family failed to show the artwork was taken in violation of international expropriation law, so US courts lack jurisdiction over their claims, the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit said Friday.
