A group of patients sued a California company that partners with health-care providers to assist with administrative services alleging that the company’s cybersecurity practices led to a data breach that leaked private patient information.
Patients of providers who work with Humboldt Independent Practice Association of Eureka, Calif., filed a proposed class action complaint in the US District Court for the Northern District of California alleging that the defendants disregarded the rights of class members by “intentionally, willfully, recklessly, and/or negligently failing to implement reasonable measures to safeguard its current and former customers’ private information.”
