Hawaii High School Girls Seek Approval of Title IX Settlement

Female athletes at a Hawaii high school asked a federal trial court Friday to give preliminary approval to a proposed settlement of their Title IX sex discrimination claims against the state’s department of education and the Oahu Interscholastic Association.

The parties filed a joint motion for preliminary approval of the proposed settlement Friday, in the US District Court for the District of Hawaii. The settlement class would include all “present and future Campbell High School female students and potential students who participate, seek to participate, and/or are or were deterred from participating in athletics at Campbell.”
