Greensboro College failed to protect the personal information of more than 52,000 people that was exposed in an August 2023 ransomware attack and data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Abigail Hedgecock alleged the North Carolina school failed to implement adequate data-security measures to protect sensitive information, maintained its network in a condition vulnerable to cyberattacks, and failed to provide adequate and timely notice of the breach.
