FTC Nominee Mark Meador Pledges to Focus on Tech, Noncompetes

Mark Meador, President Donald Trump’s nominee to fill the third Republican seat on the five-member Federal Trade Commission, told a Senate panel the agency should focus on the tech industry and the abuse of noncompete agreements in employment contracts.

But he didn’t directly answer questions about the FTC’s independence, after an order by Trump asserting greater control.
