Fresno State Gets to Move Ahead on Plan to Cut Women’s Lacrosse

California State University, Fresno is able to proceed with its plan to terminate its women’s lacrosse program at the end of the season, after the Central District of California denied a request for a preliminary injunction under Title IX.

But a court order is warranted to make sure the program, while it still exists, gets treated as well as the college’s men’s programs.

A freeze on the planned termination isn’t warranted because the athletes haven’t shown a likelihood of success on their Title IX effective accommodation claims, the court said.
