Former White House Counsel Donald F. McGahn II will return to Jones Day to lead its Government Regulation practice group.
McGahn left Jones Day in 2017 after three years as a partner at the firm to join the Trump administration where he served as counsel through tumultuous political and legal challenges.
In his role as leader of the Government Regulation practice group at Jones Day, McGahn, will oversee representation of clients before government agencies, in enforcement matters, and in court disputes arising from government regulation or action. He will also handle litigation, crisis management, and regulatory compliance issues.
