FOIA Suit Over 2001 FBI Anthrax Investigation Will Continue

A Freedom of Information Act lawsuit centering around the FBI’s investigation of the 2001 anthrax attacks will move forward, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled Jan. 17.

The court denied each side’s motions for summary judgment.

Soon after the Sept.11, 2001, attacks, letters containing anthrax spores were mailed to the offices of two U.S. senators and several news media organizations. Five people were killed, and 17 others infected.
