Fluor Judge Untainted by Niece-in-Law’s Ties, Plaintiff Asserts

Fluor Corp.'s request for a judge transfer in a lawsuit accusing it of failing to stop an Afghanistan suicide bombing attack should be denied because a conflict of interest in other related cases doesn’t exist for this one, counsel for plaintiff Winston Hencely told a South Carolina federal court.

Hencely filed his suit in February 2019 in the U.S. District Court for District of South Carolina. Eleven other related cases were filed in that court between February and April this year.

Judge Bruce H. Hendricks recused from those recent cases.
