Florida’s ban on transgender athletes playing on girls’ or women’s sports teams violates Title IX by discriminating on the basis of sex and transgender status, a federal lawsuit alleges.
The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on behalf of a 13-year-old transgender girl and her parents in Florida’s Broward County.
