Florida Readies to Join Trump’s Drive to Redo Congressional Map

A Florida legislative committee is starting discussions about redrawing the state’s congressional map, a move backed by President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis.

A one-hour gathering Thursday afternoon of the Florida House’s Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting will provide an “overview of congressional redistricting,” according to a notice on the committee’s website. In the GOP-dominated legislature, eight Republicans and three Democrats serve on a panel that Florida House Speaker Daniel Perez (R) established this summer.
