Four Florida families sued state health officials and agencies, challenging two state bans on medical care for transgender minors.
In their complaint Thursday, the families allege the bans would violate their rights as parents to seek effective care and make decisions promoting their adolescent children’s health. They also claim the bans unfairly target them because they are transgender, denying their guarantee of equal protection under the law.
