FirstEnergy to Pay $20 Million to Resolve Ohio Bribery Cases (1)

FirstEnergy Corp. said Tuesday that it’ll pay $20 million to settle all proceedings with the Ohio attorney general and a county prosecutor over the millions of dollars the company admitted to paying officials in exchange for legislation and favorable regulatory treatment.

The settlement agreement, dated Monday and disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, is with the office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) and the prosecutor in Summit County, where the company is based.
