Lisa Holder White was sworn into the Supreme Court of Illinois, becoming the first Black woman to serve on the court.
Holder White succeeds fellow Republican, Rita Garman, who retired. Holder White’s term is set to expire December 2, 2024. She plans to run for re-election, according to WTTW.
