Ferragamo Gets Suit Over Allegedly Tarnished Belt Buckles Tossed

Ferragamo USA Inc. isn’t liable to disgruntled customers who said that the company’s high-end belt buckles tarnished within a matter of months, a federal court in Florida said.

The plaintiffs sued Ferragamo and some of its distributors, including Saks Fifth Avenue LLC and The Nieman Marcus Group LLC, but failed to show that the buckles weren’t suited for their ordinary purpose—holding two ends of a belt together—the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said May 12.
