Michigan State University failed to shake off claims by members of its varsity women’s swimming and diving team that the school discriminates against women in violation of Title IX by providing “fewer and poorer athletic participation opportunities” for women than it does for men, the Western District of Michigan ruled.
The athletes sued in January after the university announced it would end the swimming and diving programs at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
