Feinstein Seeks Senate Judiciary Fill-In as Return Delayed (2)

Ailing Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) won’t be back in Washington when the Senate returns from its recess and she’s asking Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to allow another caucus member to serve on the Judiciary Committee during her absence.

“I understand that my absence could delay the important work of the Judiciary Committee, so I’ve asked Leader Schumer to ask the Senate to allow another Democratic senator to temporarily serve until I’m able to resume my committee work,” Feinstein said in a statement Wednesday.
