Federal Judge Who Rescinded Departure Insists He’s Staying

A New York federal trial court judge who rescinded plans to take senior status unless his successor lives and works in Utica, N.Y., wrote to President Joe Biden again to reiterate that he’s “unconditionally withdrawn” plans to leave his life-tenured post.

“I intend to remain on regular active status at the U.S. Courthouse in Utica for the foreseeable future,” Judge David Hurd wrote in his Wednesday letter.
