U.S. Judge John Jones to Retire, Will Lead Dickinson College (2)

John Jones will step down from his federal judgeship in Pennsylvania to take over this summer as interim president of his alma mater, Dickinson College.

Jones’ decision to leave the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania adds to more than 100 judicial vacancies for lifetime federal judgeships available for President Joe Biden to fill. James Dennis, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, also announced he would step down as an active federal judge Friday, though he will remain on the court as a senior status judge.
