Experian Beats Credit Reporting Dispute in Eleventh Circuit

There isn’t enough evidence to support a verdict that Experian Information Solutions willfully violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act after it initially failed to remove a debt included on a man’s credit report, the Eleventh Circuit ruled Friday.

Shaun Younger sued Experian after it diverted his letter requesting to remove the debt once it was dismissed in an Alabama court. The company cited its suspicious mail policy as the reason for the diversion, and it didn’t reinvestigate the disputed entry as mandated under FCRA.
