Ex-Public Defender Suspended After Felony Plea in Campaign Case

A former Pennsylvania public defender who pleaded guilty to a felony after offering employees extra time off to distribute campaign pamphlets promoting certain candidates including a judge agreed to a one-year suspension.

Bradley Adam Winnick’s suspension will be retroactive to May 2020, according to a Feb. 24 order from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Winnick was Chief Dauphin County Public Defender in 2017 when he offered office employees double time off for each hour they worked distributing campaign literature promoting the candidates in the primary and general elections, the court’s disciplinary board’s consent order said.
