The Houston Astros defeated claims by former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Michael Bolsinger that the club’s sign stealing led to such a bad inning that it cost him his Major League Baseball career, after a California trial court ruled that it lacks jurisdiction to hear the case.
Bolsinger was cut from the Blue Jays and never returned to baseball after pitching relief in a game on Aug. 4, 2017, against the Astros in which he gave up four runs—a result he attributes to the Astros tipping off its batters to the upcoming pitches.
