Ex-Alabama Justice Roy Moore’s Libel Appeal Deemed ‘Untimely’

Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore’s bid to revive his libel lawsuit against a Washington, D.C., news outlet was ended Wednesday after a federal appeals panel ruled his appeal was untimely.

A per curiam panel with the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit granted staff members and owners of the Washington Examiner’s motion to dismiss, ruling Moore’s appeal was filed outside of the required 30-day window from a district court’s April final judgment.
