Discontinued uses of asbestos and the disposal of products once made with the cancer-causing mineral have so much potential to harm the health of exposed people that the EPA must develop a rule to reduce that possibility, the agency said on Wednesday.
The Environmental Protection Agency issued a final analysis of the legacy uses and associated disposals of the six types of asbestos that were once used to make thousands of industrial, commercial, and consumer products.
