El Salvador’s Bukele Proposes Prisoner Swap With Venezuela (1)

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele proposed a swap in which more than 200 Venezuelan migrants deported there from the US would be traded for the same number of political prisoners held by Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.

“I want to propose a humanitarian agreement that includes the repatriation of 100% of the 252 Venezuelans who were deported, in exchange for the release and delivery of an identical number (252) of the thousands of political prisoners that you hold,” the Salvadoran leader said in a post on X.
