Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the Judiciary Committee top Democrat, agreed to hold off on calling for a vote to have a hearing on Donald Trump’s pick to be Washington’s top prosecutor until the nominee has the chance to address concerns in writing.
Ed Martin, currently the interim leader of the US attorney’s office in Washington, has received over 500 questions from committee members, which is “far more than normal for a US attorney nominee,” Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said at a Thursday meeting.
