The World Boxing Association’s ties to New York state subject it to a suit there seeking to strip Mahmoud Charr of his status as “champion in recess” for failing to defend his title, heavyweight champion Trevor Bryan and Don King Productions said in a newly-minted complaint.
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has jurisdiction over the WBA because it has regularly done business in the state by sanctioning professional boxing matches there for many years, Bryan and King told the court Thursday.
