Domino’s Recorded Customers Phone Orders to Train AI, Suit Says

Domino’s Pizza Inc. recorded the phone orders of hundreds of thousands of California customers without their consent to train co-defendant ConverseNow Technologies Inc.'s artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant, a proposed class action said.

The pizza chain allowed the wiretapping of customers calls’ to its restaurants by co-defendant ConverseNow without their knowledge, violating the California Invasion of Privacy Act, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

The suit marks the latest proposed class action to target Domino’s under state law over the recording of customer calls.
