Trump Tax Returns Should Be Given to Congress, DOJ Tells Court

The Biden administration urged the US Supreme Court to clear the release of former President Donald Trump’s tax returns to a House committee, saying the justices shouldn’t second-guess lawmakers’ motives for seeking the documents.

The House Ways and Means Committee is on the brink of getting six years of Trump’s returns, with only the high court standing in the way. Chief Justice John Roberts temporarily blocked the Internal Revenue Service from transferring the documents while the court considers Trump’s request for a longer delay.
