DOJ Taps First National Security Corporate Enforcement Chief (1)

The Justice Department has promoted a Brooklyn line attorney to oversee a heightened focus on white-collar enforcement at the intersection of national security.

Ian Richardson, who spent the past eight years as a prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York, will be the National Security Division’s first chief counsel for corporate enforcement, the department announced Monday.

The move comes amid a broader push to staff up NSD with additional prosecutors to investigate companies and individuals for export controls and sanctions violations.
