DOJ Environment Chief Touts Legal Victories for Trump’s Agenda

The Justice Department’s top environmental lawyer is touting the elimination of a popular settlement tool as one of his team’s top achievements during his first year in the post.

Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Bossert Clark issued the Environment and Natural Resources Division’s annual accomplishments report Wednesday, highlighting major litigation wins and other initiatives from fiscal 2019.

The report glosses over the Trump administration’s numerous legal setbacks in fiscal 2019, including a set of court decisions that required the Interior Department to take a closer look at the climate impacts of federal fossil fuel development.
