DOJ Attorney’s Defamation Suit Against New York Times Dismissed

The defamation suit by a U.S. Department of Justice attorney against The New York Times that was based on an article about alleged groping at the department was dismissed by a federal district court in New York.

The article is protected speech under New York’s fair report doctrine, the opinion by Judge Vernon S. Broderick of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
