DISH Network Not Liable for Creating Credit Report

DISH Network isn’t liable for having a credit report generated to check for fraud, a federal district court said.

The report was created for a legitimate business need, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida said.

Peri Domante’s Social Security number was stolen and used to create a DISH account. She sued DISH and it agreed to flag her Social Security number so it couldn’t be used to obtain its services again.
