The leader of the Justice Department’s civil rights division defended its anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities as hundreds of staff members have exited since President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
During a Wednesday hearing, Harmeet Dhillon highlighted the division’s work investigating alleged antisemitism on college campuses and probing admissions programs in higher education and selective high schools in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling striking down race-conscious admissions policies. That work has included investigations into 15 universities and 16 law schools, Dhillon said.
