The trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin over the death of George Floyd begins this week with the task of finding 12 jurors. In high-profile cases like this one, with so many opinions already formed, criminal law experts tell Bloomberg Law that jury selection may be the most critical piece of the case.
The question at the heart of the case is whether what millions of people saw on video, Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck, was murder or a tragic accidental death.
