Deputies Escape Liability for Detaining Wrong Man for Three Days

A claim that Florida deputies violated the constitutional rights of a man they arrested and held for three days before concluding he was the wrong person may be dismissed, the en banc Eleventh Circuit said Friday.

Because the arrest was made pursuant to a valid warrant, the detention didn’t violate David Sosa’s substantive due process rights, the opinion by Chief Judge William H. Pryor said.
