I. Introduction
The International Criminal Police Organization (“INTERPOL”) is one of the most important law enforcement organizations in the world. Its name conjures up the notion of an international police force roaming the globe, but the truth is rather less dramatic. INTERPOL is in fact not a police force at all, but rather an international body that operates to facilitate law enforcement cooperation.
INTERPOL is best known for its color-coded “Notices”—law enforcement alerts sent around the world at the request of an INTERPOL member country.
