Curtis Flowers Charges Dropped, Avoids Seventh Murder Trial

A murder indictment against a Black man tried six times in Mississippi for the same crime and who maintained his innocence throughout was dismissed after a decision by state prosecutors to forego another trial.

Supreme Court: Curtis Flowers fought for decades from death row to beat the charges of a quadruple murder. The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 for him in 2019, taking account of a local prosecutor’s pattern of keeping Black prospective jurors from deciding his fate over the years.
