Costco Worker Who Wanted to Bring Dog to Work Loses Bias Appeal

Costco Wholesale Corp.'s win in a former employee’s disability bias lawsuit over the alleged denial of his request to use his dog at work to help with his anxiety issues was upheld by the Ninth Circuit.

Nicholas Conlan’s health-care provider sent Costco a note that released Conlan to return to work without any medical restrictions, the court said.

He argued that the note was ambiguous and that Costco should have consulted with the provider before denying his request. But a lower court didn’t make a clear mistake in finding otherwise, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said ...
